Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

BCA is a three-year (6 semesters) degree programme for undergraduates aiming to build a career in the IT industry. The programme includes computer application-oriented courses that provide a sound academic base for advanced careers in the technology world.

Eligibility:

  • 10+2 from CBSE, PSEB, or any other Board recognized as equivalent
  • Minimum 50% in aggregate in 10+2
  • Maths as a compulsory subject in Matriculation

 

Bachelor of Arts with Computer Science as an elective subject

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with Computer Science elective is designed for students who wish to combine computer science with the core skills in humanities. This computer science undergraduate program provides a solid foundation in the science of computing for pursuing a technology career. The course curriculum of BA Computer Science includes various components of study such as Computer Fundamentals, Computer Programming, Operating Systems, Web Programming, Database Management, etc.

Eligibility:

A student shall be eligible to opt for the subject of Computer Science at the B.A. level if she has passed the 10+2 examination with Science/ Commerce/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Computer related subjects like Computer Science/Information Technology etc. as one of the elective subjects or optional subjects.

 

Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA)

PGDCA is a one-year (2 semesters) professional diploma course to develop dynamic computer professionals in a short time. The course covers all aspects in the core and emerging areas of computer science for preparing individuals for productive careers in the software industry, corporate sector, government organizations, and academia in India and abroad.

Eligibility:

  • Graduation from Panjab University or any other university equivalent to it
  • Minimum 50% in aggregate in graduation
