Youth Club and Red Ribbon Club

The Youth club of our college is an instrument in developing self- confidence and life skills among students. The club organizes activities that offer opportunities to interact with peers and learn new skills. Red Ribbon Club is a sub-body of Youth Club and is an international symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness. The club aims to provide a platform for youth to contribute towards the control and prevention of HIV/ AIDS. Youth Club and Red Ribbon Club have been working efficiently under the guidance of Dr. Nidhi (Dept. of Business Management and Commerce) and Ms. Daisy Wadhwa (Dept. of Computer Science and Applications).

  • On the occasion of World AIDS Day, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Red Ribbon Club of the college organized HIV AIDS Awareness talk on December 1, 2021. The teachers incharge of Red Ribbon Club, Dr. Nidhi and Ms. Daisy Wadhwa informed the students about the ways HIV is transmitted and the ways to prevent HIV spread. Students from different streams of the college participated in this event with great zeal and enthusiasm and expressed their thoughts on different aspects of HIV/AIDS through their slogans and posters.

     

  • Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell celebrated “Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat”. This activity is conducted under the guidance of Programme Officers Dr. Neetu Prakash  and Ms. Satwant Kaur on November 18, 2021. Giddha was performed by the students in the college campus. It is a popular folk dance of women in Punjab region of India which is performed during festive or social occasions, especially during the sowing and reaping of the harvest.

    

  • Under the aegis of IQAC, Red Ribbon Club of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, Ludhiana, organized an Interactive session of the college students with  Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Chairperson, Punjab Youth Development Board, Government of Punjab on November 15, 2021. During his visit, he distributed sports kits among the players of the college. Speaking on the occasion, Youth Icon Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Bindra highlighted the importance of sports in physical and mental growth of an individual. He motivated students to take an active part in games and keep themselves away from drugs.The General Secretary of the college governing body, Er. Gurvinder Singh said that by participating in sports activities the students can lead a healthier, disease-free life.

 

  • To mark the International Youth Day, a poster making and slogan writing activity was organized on August 12, 2020. The members of the club created artwork highlighting the strength and role of the present day youth.
